Cookie Policy
The cookies and similar technologies used on birdie.so, what they do, and how to change your choices.
Who we are
This site is operated by Philo Labs dba Birdie, a French SAS with its registered office at 46 quai Henri IV, 75004 Paris, France. For anything relating to cookies or personal data, write to privacy@birdie.so. Full company details are in our Legal Notice.
What cookies are
Cookies, including local shared objects, are small pieces of information stored by your browser on your device. They work by assigning your device a unique number that has no meaning outside this website. We also use two related technologies: server logs, which record your IP address each time you request a page, and web beacons, which are small pieces of data embedded in pages and emails that tell us whether an email was opened or a link clicked.
This policy supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes more broadly how we handle your information.
What we use them for
We group trackers by purpose. This is the level at which you give or refuse consent.
Strictly necessary. Required for the site to work: remembering your cookie choices, security, and delivering pages correctly. These cannot be switched off, and under Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act they do not require your consent.
Support chat. Lets you talk to us through the chat widget, and lets us recognise you if you come back to a conversation. These are set by Intercom and are only placed if you agree.
We do not run advertising cookies on this site, and we do not sell your personal information.
Who sets cookies
Some trackers are set by us. One third party sets trackers through this site, and it acts as a controller for the data it collects.
Intercom — live chat and customer support. Intercom’s messenger recognises returning visitors and keeps your conversation history. Intercom legal centre
That is the complete list. If it ever changes, we update this page.
Two things we host that do not set trackers of their own on this site: our site host, Framer, and Amazon CloudFront, which delivers video content through signed, expiring URLs. Both are described in our Privacy Policy.
How long they last
Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay on your device until they expire or you delete them.
For trackers we set ourselves, we limit the lifespan to what is necessary for the purpose it serves, and no longer. Trackers set by the third parties listed above are governed by those parties’ own retention practices, which are described in their respective privacy policies.
Whatever a cookie’s stated lifespan, you can delete it at any time through your browser settings.
Your choices
Consent. Non-essential trackers are only placed if you agree. You can accept all, refuse all, or choose purpose by purpose. Refusing is as easy as accepting, and refusing has no effect on your ability to use the site.
Changing your mind. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time, and withdrawing is as easy as giving it. Select the cookie icon that floats at the edge of any page to reopen your choices and change them.
Your browser. Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but you can usually configure yours to block or delete them. Not accepting cookies may make certain features of this website unavailable to you. Browser controls apply to your device and browser only, so you will need to repeat the setting elsewhere.
Your rights
Where cookies collect personal data, you have the rights described in our Privacy Policy: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. To exercise them, write to privacy@birdie.so.
If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you may lodge a complaint with the Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés (CNIL), 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, France, or with the supervisory authority in your country.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, in particular when we add or remove a tool that sets trackers. The date of the current version is shown at the top of this page.
